Job Summary (List Format):
- Perform computerized tomographic (CT) procedures as requested by physicians, ensuring adherence to prescribed radiation protection and safety standards.
- Operate CT scanner, control console, and associated peripheral equipment, adjusting settings and calibrating equipment as necessary.
- Select and apply appropriate imaging techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Position and immobilize patients on examination table to achieve optimal imaging of the designated anatomical area, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and answer questions to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.
- Review and process physician requests for radiologic studies, maintaining accurate and thorough radiology records.
- Assess and monitor patients’ physical and psychological well-being throughout procedures, assisting physicians and nurses as needed.
- Administer or assist in the administration of radiographic contrast media, following established protocols and training.
- Apply radiographic protection principles, including beam restriction and patient shielding, to minimize radiation exposure.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper patient identification.
- Coordinate workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency, in compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and emergency plans.
- Comply with infection control policies and quality assurance standards.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities, adhering to ARRT and state requirements.
- Maintain ethical and confidential relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.
