Job description

Summary: Perform various construction surveying related task utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment
  • Site localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary
  • Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary
  • Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary
  • Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents
  • Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and records

Requirements:

  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
  • Proficient with MS office software
  • Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
  • Must be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
  • Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle

Education and Experience: 

  • AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience
