The PepsiCo Corporate Affairs team is a key player in this work, partnering closely with our global Sustainability, R&D, Procurement, Foundation and Operations teams.
ResponsibilitiesThe pep+ Employee Communications Senior Manager will play a key role on a high-visibility cross-functional team, responsible for supporting the design and implementation of PepsiCo's pep+ sustainability agenda communications strategy and the execution of internal communications, as well as storytelling around the wider PepsiCo Positive (pep+) agenda, including sustainability. The responsibilities of this role will center around strengthening corporate reputation by elevating sustainability content and demonstrating our efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Communications & Leader Engagement, the pep+ Communications Director will:
Lead and execute the internal communications strategy for pep+ and sustainability, driving employee awareness, understanding, engagement, and advocacy across PepsiCo's sustainability agenda.
Serve as the internal communications SME for sustainability, developing key messages, narratives, and communication plans that translate complex sustainability topics into clear, compelling employee storytelling.
Determine the employee engagement and amplification strategy for key pep+ milestones, campaigns, and moments throughout the year, ensuring consistent visibility and understanding across the organization.
Lead the planning and execution of integrated employee communications campaigns across enterprise channels to support sustainability priorities in agriculture, climate, packaging, water, and people-focused initiatives.
Act as the communications COE lead for pep+ and sustainability, ensuring alignment across enterprise, function, sector, and market communications teams.
Develop and execute the annual employee communications strategy and editorial calendar for pep+ and sustainability, aligned to business priorities and key milestones.
Partner closely with sustainability leaders and subject matter experts to identify and elevate stories that bring PepsiCo's sustainability strategy and progress to life for employees.
Drive employee engagement around sustainability initiatives, volunteer programs, workplace campaigns, and enterprise moments through strategic storytelling and targeted communication plans.
Collaborate with Enterprise Communications, digital channel owners, and content teams to develop and amplify sustainability content across internal platforms, including Hello PepsiCo, Viva Engage, MyPepsiCo, leader communications, and events.
Support global sustainability communications initiatives and campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging and effective localization for North American employee audiences.
Develop measurement frameworks and insights to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability communications and continuously improve employee engagement.
Partner with the Content Team to create compelling stories, campaigns, leader messages, videos, and employee experiences that advance understanding of the pep+ agenda.
Work closely with the PepsiCo Foundation, Social Impact and Sustainability teams to drive awareness and participation in employee-focused programs and initiatives.
Partner with global sustainability and social impact teams to stay connected to emerging priorities, translating them into relevant communication strategies and employee engagement plans.
Coordinate the associate communications strategy and cadence for sustainability and social impact programs, ensuring employees understand how they can contribute to PepsiCo's goals.
Partner with external communications leads to bring external sustainability thought leadership, storytelling, milestones, and reputation-building content to internal audiences, helping employees understand PepsiCo's progress and impact.
Collaborate across communications teams to identify and amplify stories that showcase employee contributions, sustainability progress, innovation, and business impact.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the successful execution of PepsiCo's sustainability and employee engagement objectives.
Bachelor's degree (Communications or relevant degree preferred)
10+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or PR.
Experience working with and managing agencies.
Experience working in science, innovation, food and beverage, or related fields.
Ability to think and act independently, using sound judgment, in an often ambiguous and dynamic environment.
Strong decision-making and resourceful, problem-solving skills.
Executive presence and comfort around senior executives.
Culturally and politically astute. Great judgment, empathy, perception and ability to ascertain a situation quickly and effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly under tight deadlines and through the lens of general public, employees, stakeholders and KOLs.
An awareness of the challenges facing global food and beverage companies through the lens of R&D and how that extends to other functions on the team (Sustainability, PPGA, Social Impact & Foundation).

Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,500 - $206,750.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
