Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Operations leadership and other finance leaders to support plant performance and business objectives.
  • Gain deep understanding of the Packaging business (~$500M globally) and the operational complexities of both manufacturing locations.

  • Cost accounting
  • Manufacturing variances

  • Plant finance support
  • Proven ability to explain financial results, identify root causes of variances, and drive operational improvements.
  • Experience supporting or owning portions of the P&L and influencing business decisions through financial insights.
  • Ability to think strategically and support initiatives such as sourcing strategy, localization efforts, and operational efficiency improvements.

Leadership Expectations

  • Strong leadership, executive communication, and talent development skills.
  • Ability to create clarity around roles and responsibilities between Controllers and Finance Managers.
  • Establish a more formal onboarding and training approach, including documentation, processes, and support tools for new hires.
  • Develop team capability and build bench strength; the hiring manager is looking for a high-potential leader who could eventually step into larger finance leadership opportunities, including future Director-level succession opportunities.

  • Be viewed as the costing expert across the plants.
  • Have implemented stronger processes, reporting structures, and role clarity.

  • Improve team onboarding, development, and operational support.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to Operations and Finance leadership while helping drive strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA designation, and at least 8 years of progressive experience, including 2 years in a financial management role within a relevant industry
