Job Description
Senior Category Manager - Marketing, Sales & G&A Procurement

Role Overview
The Senior Category Manager leads category strategy across Marketing, Sales, and G&A procurement. This role owns complex, cross-functional sourcing initiatives, advises senior stakeholders, manages strategic suppliers, and drives enterprise value through cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk management, and governance.
This role requires deep indirect procurement experience, strong executive influence, advanced commercial skills, and the ability to mentor category managers, buyers, or analysts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead category strategies across Marketing, Sales, and G&A spend areas.
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on sourcing strategy, supplier selection, commercial structures, demand management, and risk tradeoffs.
  • Own strategic supplier relationships, governance routines, business reviews, scorecards, and performance improvement plans.
  • Lead supplier innovation, cost optimization, supplier consolidation, and operating model improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance, IT, Privacy, and business teams to structure robust commercial agreements.
  • Lead category analytics, market benchmarking, savings tracking, and executive-level reporting.
  • Mentor and guide category managers, buyers, and analysts.
  • Strengthen procurement processes, governance, tools, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Category Scope
Marketing: Media, creative and production agencies, sponsorships, experiential activation, localization, digital marketing, social, influencers, insights, analytics, and marketing technology.
Sales: Distribution and channel partners, call centers, customer engagement operations, eCommerce support, retail merchandising, field sales activation, and sales enablement platforms.
G&A: Professional services, consulting, legal, HR services, contingent labor, finance services, advisory services, and corporate services.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier management.
  • Deep experience leading Marketing and/or indirect procurement categories.
  • Experience across Sales and G&A categories strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop category strategies with enterprise impact.
  • Strong experience leading complex negotiations, sourcing events, contract development, and supplier governance.
  • Strong understanding of agency models, SOWs, rate cards, SLAs, performance metrics, and commercial structures.
  • Executive-level stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and change leadership skills.
  • Advanced analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
  • Experience mentoring or leading procurement team members.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience managing a team or directly leading procurement professionals is preferred
  • SAP Ariba, Excel, Power BI, or similar tool experience preferred.
