Job description

Senior Robotics Software Engineer โ€“ Localization

A leading robotics technology company is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer with deep expertise in Localization and Autonomous Navigation to support the continued advancement of its next-generation robotic platforms. This role is heavily focused on robot positioning, mapping, sensor fusion, and localization accuracy within complex real-world environments.

This is a highly visible engineering role working alongside perception, planning, controls, and simulation teams to improve autonomous system performance and reliability across a growing robotics platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize localization systems for autonomous mobile robots
  • Improve robot positioning accuracy using sensor fusion and state estimation techniques
  • Develop and maintain SLAM, mapping, and localization software components
  • Integrate and process data from LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, wheel odometry, GPS, and other robotic sensors
  • Analyze robot logs and debug localization drift, mapping inconsistencies, and navigation issues
  • Collaborate with perception, planning, and controls engineers on full autonomy stack integration
  • Support simulation, replay, testing, and validation of localization performance
  • Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional robotics software engineering experience
  • Strong modern C++ development experience (C++11/14/17)
  • Strong experience with ROS / ROS2 and Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience with:
