Job Summary:

We seek a Sales Manager who excels in leading with a solid commitment to team support and actively participates in leadership opportunities. This role is pivotal in achieving team goals while maintaining an enterprise-wide mindset and critical thinking in business placement. The ideal candidate will align seamlessly with our sales strategic objectives and embrace Vail Resorts' vision, mission, and priorities. We seek an individual who demonstrates agility and adaptability, takes initiative, and thrives as a team player.
Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space, and other lines of business to customer groups.

Job Responsibilities: 

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who can: 

  • Solicit, close, and contract group business using strong negotiating skills and creative selling techniques.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future booking activities, including sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, industry networking events, trade shows, etc.
  • Achieve and exceed team and individual goals, which include revenue and competency targets.
  • Execute incoming group sales lead conversion process, including evaluating, qualifying, and quantifying material leads.
  • Continually target and prospect for new business through email, telemarketing, individual creativity, networking, and innovation. 
  • Engaging with clients and developing timely proposals while working with internal stakeholders to meet and exceed customer preferences.
  • Able to provide quick, timely responses and immediate communication to stakeholders and clients.
  • Partner with the Service and Operations teams to provide a customer experience that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Become an expert in customer intelligence through evaluating market economic trends, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, supply and demand, etc., and know-how to sell against them and may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Other duties and support of other departments may be required.
  • Contribute to the health and strength of a dynamic team culture.
  • Embrace and contribute to an Enterprise-wide culture of leadership.

Job Requirements: 

  • Four-year degree Preferred
  • Minimum 1- 2 years of experience in a sales role with proven success in business development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
  • Experience within Delphi FDC (training will be provided to the right candidate.)
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to travel in the resort as needed (transportation is the employee's responsibility.)
  • Physical location in Colorado within a commutable distance to the resorts. 
  • Phone required for client-facing roles – phone plan is available (candidate must either opt into company plan or assume responsibility for a business phone solution.)
  • Company-use IT Technology Kits are provided for job requirements of corporate remote employees. Any additional items will be at employees’ expense.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $58,604.00 - $83,720.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
