Position Description:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the assigned division. This role leads, develops, and holds accountable a team of New Home Consultants while owning local market strategy, sales execution, and forecasting accuracy. The ASM plays a key leadership role in aligning field execution with broader division and company objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-performing sales talent within the division
  • Lead, coach, and develop New Home Consultants to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and individual development plans aligned with division goals
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centric selling
  • Conduct regular field engagement and performance coaching

Sales Strategy & Market Execution
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive growth, absorption, and profitability
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to identify opportunities for expansion
  • Partner with leadership to refine pricing, product positioning, and incentive strategies
  • Support marketing initiatives and promotional strategies to maximize traffic and conversion

Revenue Performance & Forecasting
  • Own sales performance across the assigned area, ensuring achievement of sales, margin, and closing targets
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts; proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics, conversion rates, backlog health, and absorption pace
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to division leadership on performance and trends
  • Contribute to financial planning, including budget alignment and revenue projections

Operational Execution
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales processes, tools, and customer experience standards
  • Partner with Construction and Operations to align inventory readiness and delivery timelines
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Construction, and Finance to align sales initiatives with business objectives
  • Partner with marketing on lead generation and campaign effectiveness
  • Provide field insights to leadership to support strategic planning
  • Support product development and community positioning

Customer Experience & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Ensure a high-quality customer experience from initial engagement through closing
  • Manage and resolve escalated customer concerns
  • Promote customer retention and referrals

Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Analyze sales and market data to inform strategy and improve outcomes
  • Track KPIs and adjust tactics based on performance trends
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage pipelines and performance

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales management in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing remote sales teams.
