Position Overview:


The Sales Manager will manage and grow a local sales force of Sales Professionals, to expand market share (for the Austin office) as well as manage other Sales Department members and attain the company’s sales goals for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach, coach, mentor and train Sales Team Members of all stages
  • Understand, maintain, and develop the Pref-Tech sales process
  • Direct and coordinate all local sales activities
  • Assist the Sales Team in building and maintaining long-term relationships
  • Maintain, track, analyze and report quarterly and annual sales goals for the team and individual sales team members,
  • Understand our ideal customer and how they relate to our products
  • Coordinate with marketing on lead generation and initiatives
  • Lead project and contract negotiations
  • Evaluate Direct Reports use of products, coach and approve as required
  • Assist in the planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new Direct Reports
  • Perform quarterly and annual performance reviews for Direct Reports
  • Hire, fire and promote the members of your team
  • Prepare strategic plans regarding:
    • Daily activities
    • Lead generation
  • Customer contact, structure of calls and appointment and follow-up.
  • Prepare presentations and sales contracts
  • Prepare proposals with detailed scopes of work.
  • Manage the bidding process with Sales Team Members and Design Estimators
  • Coordinate with Sales Team Members, Design/Estimation and Operations to help shape product and services offerings and processes
  • Attend pre-bids, walk, and review jobsites
  • Prepare and Coordinate Project Hand-Over Meetings with Operations
  • Be a TEAM player
  • Make face-to-face presentations
  • Identify and resolve client concerns and complaints
  • Develop and Maintain Personal Rocks
  • Travel as needed for interoffice or customer meetings or needs


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of management experience, with at least 3 of those years spent in security integration
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Experience in leading and managing with proven ability to lead a team to meet quotas
  • Strategic Minded
  • Service oriented, caring, and client-focused
  • Knowledge and experience in design of Pref-Tech products and services
  • In-depth knowledge of products and services that Pref-Tech offers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • 5-7+ years in a leadership role, such as team leader or sales supervisor.
  • Experience engaging with C-suite executives (CEO, CFO, COO, etc.) to negotiate and close high-value deals.
  • Proven ability to develop executive-level relationships and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

Work Hours: 

Standard workdays and times are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no set schedule for sales personnel as work schedules vary depending on client needs.


Physical Requirement: 

This position is primarily office-based and requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person and electronically. Occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs.) may be required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
