Concrete Construction Laborer

Company Name: Baseline Contracting Inc

Location: Coplay, PA (Regional Field Operations)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Industry: Heavy Highway, Civil Concrete Infrastructure & Bridge Construction

Pay Range: $22.00 – $36.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Incentives: Reliable Weekly Pay Cycle + Immediate Prevailing Wage Opportunities

The Opportunity

Laying the Foundation for Infrastructure Innovation.

Baseline Contracting, Inc. is seeking a driven Concrete Construction Laborer to join our premier Field Operations team in Coplay. As a recognized industry leader in Eastern Pennsylvania, we construct high-profile heavy highway and civil infrastructure projects for PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, local municipalities, and major industrial clients.

This is not a simple digging job; it is an entry point into advanced structural masonry. Our crews work on complex structural projects—including bridges, wastewater treatment plants, retaining walls, and architectural structures—utilizing cutting-edge 3D-capable slipform technology. If you are a hard-working professional looking for year-round stability, premium prevailing wage projects, and a clear path to master a high-demand trade, Baseline Contracting provides the tools, training, and team structure to elevate your career.

What You Will Be Doing

You will operate as a vital contributor to the layout, structural integrity, and physical execution of our concrete pours:

  • Site & Subgrade Preparation: Execute precise excavation, raking, and mechanical compaction of soil and stone subgrades to establish stable foundations for concrete placement.
  • Formwork & Steel Reinforcement: Assist in assembling, leveling, and securing heavy wood or metal structural forms; precisely place and tie rebar and wire mesh configurations.
  • Structural Material Placement: Direct the physical placement of concrete mixes during active pours; utilize mechanical tools for the proper spreading, consolidated vibrating, and screeding of raw material.
  • Curing & Finish Support: Apply chemical curing compounds, assist in finishing tasks to meet target grading specifications, and run layout controls.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate specialized trade tools including concrete saws, internal vibrators, plate compactors, and basic material handling machinery.
  • Site Operations Control: Maintain high safety and cleaning standards for tools, machinery, and active job site boundaries to optimize field production goals.
  • Logistics & Fleet Support: Drive commercial support vehicles or assist with material transport operations across regional project sites as required.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Trade Foundation: 2+ years of hands-on experience in construction or structural concrete placement is highly preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: The capacity to thrive in physically demanding environments, lifting heavy materials and working in variable outdoor weather conditions over extended shifts.
  • Logistics Assets: Possess reliable personal transportation to guarantee punctual arrival at changing regional jobsites.
  • Professional Mindset: A safety-first mentality, strong attention to detail, and an active desire to learn automated 3D slipform systems.
  • Education: No specific degrees or technical certifications are required to apply.
  • Market Traction: Infrastructure spending has generated record backlogs across Eastern Pennsylvania. Craftworkers who develop specific competency in automated 3D slipform processes and PennDOT compliance reside in the top 10th percentile of market demand, yielding accelerated opportunities for supervisor advancement.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We invest in the professionals who build our physical infrastructure:

  • Top-Tier Earnings: $22.00 – $36.00 per hour strictly based on your field experience and trade knowledge.
  • Enhanced Income: Direct, consistent access to Prevailing Wage contracts offering significantly higher hourly compensation rates.
  • Reliable Logistics: Dependable weekly pay cycle to keep your earnings consistent.
  • Health & Security: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, alongside Life Insurance options.
  • Future Security: Corporate Retirement Savings Program to support your long-term goals.
  • Paid Time Off: Earned allocations for vacation, personal, and sick leave.
  • Professional Support: Advanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high-quality safety gear fully provided by the company.
  • Career Trajectory: Access to paid continuous technical training and recognized industry certifications to facilitate internal advancement.
