Company Description

CCV Stars is a year-round, rapidly growing, multi-site outreach ministry of CCV that exists to connect the community through sports. Stars provides a comprehensive program that not only develops the skills of players but also comes alongside the parents to help form a foundation that will develop character and integrity, making sports more than a game. CCV Stars is the largest youth sports program of its kind with over 25,000 youth participants each year. We currently offer various levels of flag football, rec soccer, club soccer, and basketball at various times of the year. The Area Director of Coaching will own all aspects of their areas' club soccer program. In addition, they will integrate with and support their campus stars team and work with area campuses to elevate the recreational soccer program.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Club Soccer specific
    • Leader and face of area club soccer program, implementing and enforcing club policies and standards
    • Primary contact for coaches as well as coach and/or parent issues
    • Recruit coaches, managers, trainers; handle financial aspects of trainers.
    • Practice/game scheduling
    • Secure referees or coordinate through referee assignor
    • Lead events like camps, tryouts, 3v3 tournaments; assist with Champions Cup
    • Responsible for overall technical development of players, teams, and coaches
    • Observe practices and games, as well as train or coach teams as needed and available
    • Push coaches to pursue US Soccer coach licenses and implement club philosophy
    • Lead coach and parent meetings throughout the season
    • Work with leagues on scheduling and tournaments
  • Ministry:
    • Reinforce the mission of Stars to move people across the parking lot to CCV 
    • Building relationships with Stars families & coaches, look for ministry opportunities
    • Guide coaches and volunteers to grow in their next steps
    • Ensure More Than A Game elements like huddles, cards/curriculum, and prayer are taking place
    • Help integrate the Stars ministry with other CCV ministries
  • Programming (various rec sports):
    • Support and assist in recruiting and training volunteers for coaches, guest services, and field ops
    • Assist as needed with league implementation (make teams, schedules, maps, referees, etc)
    • Support volunteer coaches as needed during practices and games
    • Integrate with campus team to staff and run the facility
  • Operations:
    • Assist in ensuring facility is ready for all practices/games (signage, equipment, fields/courts, restrooms, etc)
    • Manage and steward facility and equipment/inventory
    • Oversee safety and quality of facility, handling minor repairs and communicating with landscapers
    • Work with Area Stars Pastor and Lead Stars Pastor on all field usage and practice/game scheduling
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Ability to multitask and manage time
    • Variable schedule including 2 nights a week and Saturdays on the fields during season
    • Assist and contribute to non-Stars related campus wide events

Education and Experience
