Job description

General Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Printer Field Technician to join our growing team. This role combines hands-on expertise in printer service and repair with field installation and customer support responsibilities. You will be deployed to customer and retail partner locations across your region to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain wide format printers, stationery printers, dry inkjet minilabs, and simplex printers, dye-sublimation equipment, and related photo center technologies, as well as support infrastructure and equipment installations.
This role is ideal for professionals who excel at troubleshooting under pressure, providing exceptional customer service, and managing field assignments independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position is based out of your local area with an expectation of 95% travel (By car, plane, etc.). This role will report to the Field Operations Supervisor.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain wide format printers, stationery printers, dry inkjet minilabs, simplex printers, kiosks, controllers, and sublimation technologies.
  • Install, service, and maintain telecommunications and equipment infrastructure at customer locations.
  • Ensure job sites operate to both company and customer standards.
  • Professionally communicate and interact with store personnel, customers, and internal support teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve device and equipment issues efficiently under deadlines.
  • Manage and direct helper technicians, ensuring adherence to processes and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and timely expense reports.
  • Travel frequently (regional and national as required) and adapt to scheduling demands, including nights and weekends.
  • Uphold company standards for professionalism, safety, and compliance at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to work with a team independently.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Work effectively under deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills to assist in problem solving.
  • Willing to be flexible with scheduling demands including nights and weekends.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in printer service/repair (inkjet and dye-sublimation required).
  • Minimum 2 years in field services, installation, or similar technical background.
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background check, motor vehicle report and drug screening.
  • Able to obtain certifications required for aerial lifts.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 60lbs.
  • Navigate uneven terrain safely and efficiently.
  • Push, pull, and reach for objects with varying degrees of force, including overhead tasks.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Perform repetitive tasks as required by the role.
  • Climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and maintain balance.
  • Work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Assume various physical positions including standing, bending, crouching, crawling, or kneeling.
