These sectors have unique needs and paths for cloud adoption, and the AWS Industry Marketing team helps state & local government and education customers transform their organizations using our broad & deep portfolio of cloud services, generative AI, industry solutions, and partners.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a technically-minded, results-oriented 'Head of State & Local Government & Global Education Marketing' to develop, lead, and execute our global marketing strategy & programs for state & local government and education organizations


This person will lead a global team of marketing experts that drive industry-specific messaging, account-based marketing, global industry campaigns, executive programs, and presence at large global events & industry tradeshows. They will partner closely with business leaders to shape and position our portfolio of services, solutions, and partner offerings into a clear go-to-market approach that helps customers adoption AWS across State & Local Government and Global Education customer segments. Their team will develop differentiated value propositions backed by compelling 'reasons to believe' that position AWS as the best cloud and AI provider for state & local government and education use cases.

They will create world-class industry content, technical storytelling, & experiences that scale across AWS Marketing channels to help decision makers see the value in working with AWS. They will directly influence large deals and AWS adoption through account-based marketing tailored to specific customers.
The candidate will hold a high bar for marketing activities, defining success metrics, measurement methods, and reporting processes.

They will work on a rapidly growing business and have the opportunity to drive impact every day alongside a broad set of stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and oversee the global state & local government and education industry marketing team
- Develop compelling and differentiated value propositions and narratives that bring together AWS industry expertise, services and solutions for state & local government and education
- Drive product and customer stories with excellence through the industry lens and ensure they are delivered through industry-specific digital channels, campaigns, analysts, press, events and commercial organization stakeholders
- Use market insights and competitive analysis to shape our product, sales, go-to-market, and industry marketing approach
- Lead a team of account-based marketers who design and execute ABM campaigns (1:1, 1:few) that align with global frameworks and drive measurable business impact
- Develop account-specific messaging, content, and campaigns that translate AWS cloud and AI capabilities into relevant value propositions for specific customers
- Build and manage executive engagement programs, including briefings, roundtables, and immersive experiences tailored to senior defense decision-makers
- Build and maintain relationships with executives, customers and industry analysts
- Collaborate with the broader AWS Industry Marketing team to share insights, scale best practices, and contribute to the overall public sector go-to-market strategy
