Calvert, Alabama
On-Site Role
Compensation: $20-$25 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Shell Order Entry Representative plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer purchase orders within a steel processing facility. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end order entry process, including confirming receipt of new purchase orders, routing emails and supporting documents to internal teams, entering order details into SAP, and maintaining professional communication across departments. The role also involves saving and attaching order documents, communicating customer approvals, revisions, and cancellations, and conducting secondary reviews to ensure all orders are properly processed. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information. The role is based in the administration building at the Calvert, Alabama facility and operates within an open, collaborative office environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage and confirm receipt of new purchase orders; route emails and supporting documents to appropriate internal teams
  • Accurately and efficiently enter customer purchase order details in SAP
  • Save purchase order documents to the server and attach them to SAP orders
  • Communicate customer approvals, revisions, and cancellations to the Order Entry team
  • Complete secondary review to confirm all purchase orders received are entered
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with internal teams regarding order requirements
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Demonstrate high-accuracy data entry and strong organizational skills
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) for order processing tasks
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by accepting feedback and optimizing processes
  • Work comfortably in an open and collaborative office environment within the administration building of a steel processing facility
