Job description

The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Loan Operations Associate, you'll work to:

  • Support end-to-end loan onboarding, closings, and operational setup for private credit and direct lending transactions
  • Process complex loan lifecycle events-fundings, repayments, prepayments, rollovers, and amendments-with accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform cash, position, and transaction reconciliations to maintain data integrity across borrower, lender, and settlement records
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc operational reports and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to identify process inefficiencies and support platform enhancements that improve scalability and client experience
The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Loan Operations team.

Carta's Loan Operations team is at the center of how private credit and direct lending firms manage their loan portfolios end-to-end. Our team works directly with borrowers, lenders, and institutional clients to support the full loan lifecycle on Carta's platform-from onboarding and administration through reconciliation, reporting, and investor servicing. As the business scales, the team partners closely with Product and Engineering to build smarter, more efficient operational workflows. This is a team that values operational rigor, a technology-forward mindset, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience.

About You
  • Operationally rigorous. You bring 2+ years of experience in loan operations, private credit operations, fund administration, or commercial lending, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
  • Knowledgeable about the loan lifecycle. You understand syndicated loans, direct lending structures, revolvers, and lifecycle events such as closings, fundings, amendments, and payoffs-and you can translate that knowledge into reliable day-to-day execution.
  • Technology-forward. You actively leverage modern tools-including AI-powered productivity tools-to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and help shape scalable operating models.
  • A strong communicator. You build effective working relationships and respond clearly and professionally to inquiries from borrowers, lenders, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytically minded. You bring strong analytical and organizational skills and can perform interest, fee, payoff, and other loan-related calculations with confidence.
Salary

Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:ย
