ABOUT THE ROLE
The Yard & Shipping Driver supports yard operations by assisting with stockpiling, loading, and securing products for shipment to job sites. This role involves operating tractor-trailers within the yard, handling materials, and working closely with the crew to ensure safe and efficient loading. The Driver plays a key role in maintaining safety standards and ensuring materials are properly prepared for transport.
Salary range $26.31/Hour. Based on location and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Assist with stockpiling and loading panels/products onto trailers
  • Operate tractor-trailer equipment to move materials within the yard
  • Secure loads using chains, binders, and tie-down belts
  • Perform rigging and work with cranes using proper hand signals
  • Climb on trailers and stockpiles to safely handle materials
  • Carry and place blocking and rigging equipment as needed
  • Use propane burners to clear snow/ice from trailers and materials when necessary
  • Support general yard operations and maintain a safe work environment

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is a reliable, safety-focused individual with experience in yard operations and commercial driving. They are comfortable working in a physical, fast-paced environment and can work effectively as part of a team. This individual is detail-oriented, takes direction well, and is committed to ensuring loads are handled and secured properly.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid license and clean driving record
  • Experience operating forklifts, loaders, skid steers, etc
  • Experience with cranes, rigging, and hand signals preferred
  • Ability to read load lists and communicate effectively with team members
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to work in a physical environment

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
