Lead Safe, Efficient LNG Fuel Operations at Sea

TOTE Services is seeking a highly skilled and safety-driven LNG Tankerman PIC to support LNG bunkering and fuel transfer operations aboard vessels and marine terminals. This role is critical to ensuring the safe handling, transfer, and management of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in compliance with all regulatory and company standards.

As a key member of our maritime operations team, you will play an essential role in supporting clean energy initiatives and next-generation vessel fueling, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining the highest level of safety and environmental stewardship.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as Person-in-Charge (PIC) for all LNG transfer and bunkering operations
  • Ensure compliance with all USCG regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Conduct and supervise pre-transfer meetings, checklists, and safety briefings
  • Monitor LNG transfer operations, ensuring safe flow rates, pressure control, and emergency readiness
  • Coordinate closely with vessel crews, terminal operators, and shore-side personnel
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance checks of LNG systems and equipment
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations, ensuring proper shutdown procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation for all transfer activities
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
  • Tankerman PIC endorsement (Liquefied Gas preferred)
  • Experience with LNG or petroleum transfer operations
  • Strong understanding of hazardous material handling and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, and relevant maritime regulations
  • Ability to work in high-risk environments with strict safety protocols
  • Strong communication and situational awareness skills
  • Ability to work rotational schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LNG bunkering operations
  • STCW endorsements (as applicable)
  • Familiarity with cryogenic systems and LNG-specific equipment
  • Prior experience working with marine terminals or vessel fueling operations
