IT Learning & Training Specialist
Job Description
Job Summary:
The NU ITS Training and Development team supports faculty, staff, and students across the University of Nebraska system through engaging, accessible, and high-quality technology training experiences. This position plays a key role in the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of technology training initiatives that support enterprise systems, learning platforms, and digital learning environments across all campuses.
This role partners closely with campus stakeholders, faculty support teams, instructional designers, and ITS departments to develop innovative and scalable training solutions that enhance the adoption, usability, and effectiveness of university technologies.
This position will uphold the ITS core principles of collaboration, communication, innovation, integrity, and a commitment to supporting teaching, learning, and operational excellence across the NU System.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Information Technology or related field
2 years professional experience with training, instructional design, instructional technologies, or related field.
Experience delivering technology or system training, preferably within higher education or a similarly complex organization.
Experience creating instructional videos, digital learning assets, and multimedia training materials.
Experience developing and facilitating technical presentations and workshops for diverse, non-technical audiences.
Experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder requests simultaneously.
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or coursework in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Educational Technology, Organizational Learning or related field
Experience with learning management systems and related technologies, including Canvas, Bridge, Canvas Catalog, or similar platforms.
Experience with instructional development and multimedia tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive digital learning practices.
Experience developing email campaigns, newsletters, website content, and learner communications.
Ability to demonstrate a professional presence with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies that support training, productivity, and digital learning initiatives.
Experience with badging, credentials, learning analytics, LMS integrations, or project management

Under the University of Nebraska Information Technology Services (NU ITS) hybrid work guidelines, eligible employees my work remotely up to two days per week and are required to work on-site a minimum of three days per week at one of the University of Nebraska campuses in Lincoln, Omaha or Kearney.
