Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-Hour Shifts) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48 hours available upon request)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF population with a day shift ratio of 1:4–5
  • Perform and manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, NG/PEG tube management, straight cath/Foley insertion, ostomy care, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for all clinical documentation (checkoff class required upon start)
  • Float within skillset to a sister campus with a minimum of 2-hour notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
  • Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements: three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
  • May be required to precept students and new hires at this teaching facility
Required Qualifications
  • Current, active Compact RN License required
  • AHA BLS Certification required
  • NIHSS Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical experience
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Recent EPIC charting experience required
  • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage a high-acuity Med-Surg patient population
  • Experience with remote telemetry monitoring and complex wound/tube management
  • Demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, collaborative, and socially engaged team member
