Job description

Job Details:

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex as a priority. External candidates are considered post internal applicant review. Current team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

The Hatchery Worker Labor is responsible for ensuring smooth operations within the hatchery by overseeing quality control, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting hatchery labor tasks as needed. This position plays a critical role in verifying counts, monitoring cleanliness, and ensuring accurate data entry into Power BI and MTech systems. The Hatchery Worker must have a thorough knowledge of all hatchery positions, be able to relieve team members for breaks, and act as a backup labor resource while ensuring all procedures are followed correctly.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform quality control checks throughout the hatchery to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Collect and process bacteria plates for environmental monitoring.

  • Verify counts for eggs, chicks, and other production metrics.

  • Monitor and ensure cleanliness of all areas within the hatchery.

  • Oversee work activities to ensure proper completion of tasks by all team members.

  • Provide break coverage for various hatchery roles as needed.

  • Accurately enter operational data into Power BI and MTech.

  • Assist with training or guiding employees on correct procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and organized administrative paperwork.

  • Report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to management immediately.

  • Assist with special projects or operational changes as assigned by management.

  • Support all biosecurity and safety protocols within the hatchery.
