To thrive as a Live-In Temporary Caregiver, you need experience in personal care, basic household management, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with care documentation tools and, in some cases, CPR or first aid certification is beneficial. Live-in temporary employees often face challenges related to adapting quickly to new household environments, building trust with hosts, and maintaining boundaries between work and personal life. To manage these, it's important to communicate expectations clearly with employers, establish a daily routine, and set aside personal time when possible. Flexibility and strong interpersonal skills are key to successfully navigating different household dynamics and ensuring a positive experience for both parties.

What are live-in temporary workers?

Live-in temporary workers are individuals who reside at their employer's home or provided accommodation for a short-term period to provide services such as caregiving, housekeeping, or childcare. These positions are typically filled when families or employers need immediate, short-term assistance due to circumstances like illness, travel, or a regular caregiver’s absence. The arrangement usually includes room and board, and the duration can range from a few days to several weeks. Live-in temporary workers are expected to be available for work as needed during their stay, with specific duties outlined by the employer.

Job description

Overview
BONITA SPRINGS, FL (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) - A warm, devoted single mother is excited to welcome a PART-TIME LONG-TERM NANNY/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER who can LIVE-IN OR OUT(full-time living in) and who can become a trusted and joyful extension of the family while providing steady support for her bright, active, and affectionate 5-year-old son. This role is perfect for a high-energy, compassionate professional who loves engaging with children, understands emotional development, and brings structure, enthusiasm, and reliability to a dynamic household. The position follows a split schedule-morning support from 6:00-8:30am to help with breakfast, getting ready, and school drop-off, followed by evening care from roughly 5:30-8:00pm for pickup, after-school play, homework, dinner, and bedtime routines. Occasional Saturday evening care (5pm-11pm), ideally once per month, is requested. The role offers approximately 20-30 hours per week. Mom prefers candidates to have flexibility to support the son on days when his school is closed and be open to working a long weekend/overnights 2-3 times per year.
This family lives in a peaceful cul-de-sac ideal for outdoor play, with parks and activities just a short drive away. Their son is an adventurous, fun-loving child who enjoys Cub Scouts, basketball, fishing, and time spent near the bay. The right candidate is an excellent communicator-dependable, proactive, and confident managing daily transitions, emotional coaching, and structured enrichment. Responsibilities include preparing simple children's meals, child-related household tasks, swapping out clothes as he grows, laundry, errands, pet care for a gentle 10-year-old French Bulldog, and driving using your own vehicle (with mileage reimbursement). Occasional travel-especially to New Hampshire for the holidays-is a wonderful bonus but not required. Pet care may include feeding the dog or letting him out to potty.
This is a loving, respectful home where the nanny will also interact with the child's grandparents during the months they live with the family (January through June), with everyone enjoying their own private space within the large home. A few times per year, their nephew visits with his parents, and the family would greatly appreciate a nanny who is open to occasionally caring for both children while the adults enjoy a dinner or evening out. This is infrequent, but warmly welcomed. Pool safety is essential, though the child is already an independent swimmer. A passport is a welcomed perk, and the mother is not vaccinated.
The family is eager to find someone who will not only support their son's daily rhythm but also genuinely enjoy becoming an important and cherished part of their lives. This role offers competitive pay of $25/hr gross via payroll, paid time off, and paid holidays. The start date is ASAP. If you're nurturing, organized, and excited about creating meaningful impact in a child's world, this is a truly special opportunity.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
  • UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)

  • A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
  • 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
  • EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES
  • U.S. DRIVER'S LICENSE (THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO NYC RESIDENTS)
