Live-In Caregiver : Winters - Palm Beach County, Florida

Summers and Fall: Harbor Springs, Michiga


Live-In Caregiver / Household Assistant : Florida and Michigan

Kind, respectful couple in their 80s seek an experienced, compassionate Live-In Caregiver to provide dedicated support for the wife, who requires assistance with all activities of daily living. The husband is independent, handles all driving, and is actively involved. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a calm, patient professional who enjoys building meaningful relationships while helping a household run smoothly.


The family divides their time between residences in Detroit MI suburbs; Harbor Springs, Michigan; and Palm Beach, Florida. The caregiver will travel with the family to each residence. A private bedroom and bathroom are provided.


Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., five or six days per week (including Sundays). 6 days/week would be preferred, including Sundays, with significant comp time (days off) offered.


Primary Care Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, attentive care throughout the day.
  • Assist with all personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Help with mobility, transfers, and walking assistance as needed.
  • Lead daily light physical therapy exercises, under family and therapist guidance
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks; encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Administer or remind regarding medications as directed.
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and meaningful engagement.
  • Observe changes in condition and communicate concerns to the family.
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring presence while preserving the client's dignity and independence whenever possible.

Household Support

  • Prepare simple meals and clean up the kitchen.
  • Laundry, ironing, and linen care.
  • Light housekeeping to keep the home neat and organized.
  • Grocery shopping and household inventory (as needed).
  • Coordinate appointments, deliveries, and household vendors when appropriate.
  • Assist with general household organization and day-to-day operations.
  • Work cooperatively with the husband to ensure the household runs smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience and training caring for someone with dementia
  • Job history with seniors requiring hands-on persona care.
  • Must be strong enough to assist with lifting patient when needed.
  • Professional, dependable, and highly trustworthy.
  • Compassionate, patient, and naturally calming personality.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and willing to travel seasonally between Michigan and Florida.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide the highest level of discretion.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Salaried ($10,000-$12,000/month)-$120,000-$144,000 annually, based on experience.
