Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day onsite construction activities for industrial building projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, aligning their work with the project schedule and addressing setbacks to keep the project on track.
  • Order and track materials to ensure timely delivery and availability for all phases of construction.
  • Monitor and maintain the construction schedule, updating stakeholders on progress and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Apply and enforce safety practices in accordance with OSHA standards, promoting a safe work environment for all onsite personnel.
  • Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to the internal design team, architect, or engineer to clarify design questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Log construction progress and prepare detailed daily and weekly reports for the project manager and client.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, designs, and drawings, and support subcontractors with questions, design changes, and scheduling issues.
  • Coordinate building permitting activities, including submitting permit applications and scheduling building and engineering inspections.
  • Collaborate with management on productivity tracking, cost control, quality assurance, document management, and processing of applications for payment.
  • Develop and finalize the project punch list, oversee completion of outstanding items, and support project closeout activities.
  • Maintain high levels of communication with a customer-oriented mindset, actively participating in owners’ meetings and subcontractor meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and standards, including ICC and IBC 2018, throughout the construction process.

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of safety practices and OSHA standards, supported by OSHA 30 certification.
  • Familiarity with building and construction inspections and permitting requirements for industrial facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial manufacturing facility construction, including coordination of specialized trades and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of ICC (International Code Council) standards and IBC 2018 (International Building Code) requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, designs, and construction drawings accurately.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain clear, consistent communication with owners, clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to handle multiple job sites or complex project scopes while maintaining control of schedule and site communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects as the prime contractor or on behalf of an owner, with a clear understanding of stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in documenting and reporting construction progress through daily and weekly logs and formal reporting to project managers and clients.
