SUMMARY

The Construction Manager leads BMS/EPMS construction and retrofit projects, owning field execution through planning and closeout. This role keeps projects on schedule and within budget by resolving field issues early and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.

  • 90%+ of project milestones achieved on or before planned dates
  • Final project costs within +/- 3% of approved budget
  • Monthly forecast accuracy within +/-5% of actual project performance
  • Zero recordable safety incidents across assigned projects
  • <5% rework or punch list items tied to construction execution
  • 100% of project documentation submitted accurately and on time for all project phases
  • Demonstrates accountability, ownership, and reliability in project delivery
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead BMS construction and retrofit projects from planning through closeout
  • Manage field execution, subcontractors, and site coordination across all project phases
  • Service as primary point of contact for clients during construction and project delivery
  • Own alignment of scope, schedule, and budget across the full project lifecycle
  • Identify and resolve constructability, sequencing, and field execution issues
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to deliver against technical and project requirements
  • Develop and actively manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans across all phases
  • Track project financial performance, including cost to complete, and escalate risks to budget or margin early
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and status updates
  • Enforce quality standards and safety protocols across all project activities and execute project closeout
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of construction, controls, or technical project management experience
  • Experience managing BMS, controls, or HVAC retrofit projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Significant experience leading multi-million dollar data center construction projects
  • Significant experience leading BMS/EPMS controls commissioning, system integration, or controls platform migrations projects
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work environment: Field-based role across active construction sites and operational facilities, including mission-critical environments
  • Physical requirements:
    • Walking job sites, standing for extended periods, climbing ladders as needed
    • Working in active construction and mechanical environments
    • Occasional lifting of equipment or materials
  • Schedule expectations:
    • Standard working hours with project-driven variability
    • Travel required (up to ~30%) based on project needs
