The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is actively recruiting a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Gering, Nebraska, where you will provide high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care for all. Utilizing an integrated care approach, our providers work collaboratively to address all aspects of patients’ health and believe that exceptional, compassionate care should be accessible and affordable for all. Medical, dental, behavioral health, and outreach services are coordinated to ensure well-rounded, comprehensive care.

Your Role:

  • Provide patient assessment and diagnosis, and formulate outcome-based psychiatric treatment plans
  • Order, conduct, and interpret pertinent laboratory and diagnostic procedures with appropriate follow through  
  • Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate psychotropic and related medications
  • Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling  
  • Consult, refer, and collaborate with other discipline involved in the delivery of total patient care  
  • Refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statues and protocols regulating the profession  
  • Assess real or potential health hazards including analysis of health behavior related to lifestyle and culture  
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records pertaining to treatment 

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program  
  • Current license in good standing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Nebraska  
  • Current and unencumbered DEA
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental dysfunctions
  • Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other health professionals as needed  
  • Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically under-served individuals in a public health setting
