Company: Tangen Hospitality - Globe Bar & Kitchen
Location: Globe Bar & Grill
Reports To: General Manager and Head of Security (This position does not have supervisory authority unless otherwise assigned)

Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Nights, Weekends, Holidays Required

Pay: $18.50 / hour + Tips


Position Summary

The Security Personnel is responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and welcoming environment for guests and staff across Tangen Hospitality venues. This role ensures compliance with state and local alcohol laws, enforces venue policies, manages entry and crowd control, and responds professionally to incidents.

Security personnel represent the company at the door and throughout the venue. Strong judgment, calm communication, and professionalism are required at all times.

Security personnel are team members first. In addition to safety responsibilities, they actively assist with nightly cleaning, closing duties, and operational support.

Placement is determined based on operational needs and staffing availability.


Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Entry & ID Verification
  • Verify all guest identification and prevent underage entry
  • Detect fake IDs
  • Maintain accurate headcount and monitor capacity limits
  • Enforce dress code and venue policies
  • Manage guest flow and re-entry procedures
Crowd Management & Floor Monitoring
  • Monitor guest behavior for intoxication or aggression
  • Identify and de-escalate potential conflicts
  • Remove patrons in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain professional presence
  • Support bartenders, servers, and management during peak hours
Conflict Resolution & Incident Response
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques
  • Respond to fights or altercations safely
  • Intervene in harassment or unsafe situations
  • Respond to medical emergencies and contact EMS when needed
  • Coordinate with law enforcement when required
  • Complete clear and detailed incident reports
Cleaning & Closing Responsibilities

Security team members assist with nightly closing procedures, which may include:

  • Taking out trash and replacing liners
  • Wiping down tables, door frames, equipment, and bar areas
  • Sweeping patios and exterior areas
  • Resetting tables and chairs
  • Assisting with bathroom checks
  • Perimeter walk-throughs
  • Returning radios and security equipment
  • Supporting Manager on Duty during final inspection

Security personnel are expected to actively participate in cleaning, resetting, and closing duties to ensure the venue is fully operational for the next business day.


Compliance & Legal Responsibilities
  • Follow Washington State alcohol service laws
  • Adhere to use-of-force policies
  • Document removals and reportable incidents
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Communication & Teamwork
  • Use radios professionally and return equipment properly
  • Attend security briefings and staff meetings
  • Communicate effectively with management
  • Participate in venue closing procedures and final walk-throughs

Compensation

Security Officers are compensated at an hourly rate based on experience, qualifications, and assigned venue.

In certain venues or shifts, Security personnel may have the opportunity to participate in a tip-out structure at management discretion. Tip participation is not guaranteed and may vary depending on location, shift, and company policy.

Compensation adjustments are not automatic and are based on individual performance, overall contribution, and business needs.

Requirements:Qualifications
  • 21+ years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday late-night shifts
  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Prior security or related experience preferred
  • Strong communication and judgment skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–10 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to respond quickly to physical situations
  • Comfortable working in loud, high-volume environments
