JOB TITLE: 

UW-NPS Seasonal Staff

JOB PURPOSE: 

Assist with operations of the UW Research Institute at AMK Ranch, which could include facilitating seasonal operation of our field station, assistance with office tasks, and station-based research in cooperation with Grand Teton National Park. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Duties include: daily cleaning, pest control, check in and check out station guests, help with catering and audio visual setup for seminars and special events, purchase supplies for events and station operation, work effectively with station manager and other staff, trash disposal, promotion of station events, assistance with research activities, communication with public and visitors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in environmental science, biology, natural resources, outdoor recreation, or a related field.

Interest in research and field station maintenance or operations. 

Must be comfortable living on site, in shared staff housing, at a remote research station in a national park. Must be comfortable living in close proximity to many types of wildlife, willing to be vaccinated for rabies, willing to work in and around water, including on different kinds of watercraft

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience or interest in field-based research 

Effective teamwork

Experience or desire to live and work in a remote location (1 hour from town) with few other people and limited amenities

Experience working in challenging conditions including backcountry work, comfort in an around water, and ability to maintain positive attitude during long hours on some days

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Experience in customer service, working with visitors, or communicating information to visitors and the public.

Candidates with the ability to work up to 40 hours/week for the entire field season (late May-early October) are preferred
