Line Cook Opportunities

SEASONAL + FULL-TIME POSITIONS | $20$25/HOUR

Location: Three Forks Ranch in Slater, Colorado approximately 40 miles from Steamboat Springs

Positions: Seasonal and full-time opportunities available

Live and work in a remote Colorado setting while building experience in a high-end, all-inclusive hospitality operation. Three Forks Ranch is seeking experienced, self-directed line cooks who can reliably execute established menus and uphold exacting standards for quality, consistency, sanitation, and presentation.


What We Offer

Seasonal and full-time positions: Seasonal opportunities are available through November 5, 2026; full-time positions are also available.

Competitive pay: $20$25 per hour, based on experience.

Affordable employee housing: Rent is based on a shared or single-room arrangement. Electricity, propane, internet, cable, and snow removal are included. No pets are permitted.

Three meals every day at no cost: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided 365 days a year, including scheduled days off.

The Role

You will prepare and cook established menu items according to Three Forks Ranch recipes, standards, and procedures. This position is best suited to a capable cook who can step into a professional kitchen, follow predetermined menus precisely, and execute independently without requiring basic culinary training.


Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present all assigned menu items consistently and to established standards.

Follow recipes, production plans, plating specifications, and direction from the Director of Food & Beverage and Kitchen Coordinator.

Host and teach guest facing cooking classes.

Estimate daily production needs using the expo sheet; check the quality of raw and cooked products.

Maintain proper receiving, storage, labeling, preservation, temperature control, and food-safety practices.

Complete daily cleaning of equipment, workstations, benches, floors, and assigned kitchen areas.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance or performance issues promptly.

Monitor product rotation, expiration dates, and correct storage within assigned areas.

Communicate effectively with culinary and other ranch departments; report special orders, last-minute requests, and operational concerns.

Provide direction to dishwashing staff when assigned and help maintain a respectful, efficient kitchen environment.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.


Experience & Qualifications

At least two years of professional cooking experience in a high-end restaurant, hotel, resort, club, or comparable culinary environment.

Demonstrated ability to execute established menus and recipes independently, accurately, and on deadline.

Strong knife skills and working knowledge of modern cooking methods, including roasting, grilling, searing, braising, poaching, frying, baking, smoking, and sous vide.

Working knowledge across multiple kitchen stations, such as grill, saut, garde-manger, vegetables, sauces, butchery, salad, and basic pastry.

Understanding of food safety, sanitation, proper storage, and professional kitchen organization.

Clear spoken and written English sufficient for recipes, labels, safety procedures, and team communication.

Culinary degree preferred, but equivalent professional experience is welcomed.

Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicle required.

Schedule & Physical Requirements

Seasonal and full-time positions are available. Hours vary based on guest occupancy and business needs; a minimum of 40 hours per week is expected when no guests are in-house.

Must be available for both day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, use step ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work safely in hot and cold environments.
