Effective communication with your employer about expectations and schedules is crucial to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, adapting to a household's unique routines and preferences can be challenging at first, but being flexible and proactive in understanding the household's needs can help you integrate smoothly. Regular check-ins and setting clear agreements regarding time off and duties are also key to a successful experience in this role.

What is a live-in part-time job?

Live-in part-time jobs are positions where an employee resides at their employer's location, such as a private home or facility, but works only part-time hours. These jobs are common in caregiving, nannying, or housekeeping roles, where the worker may be present for security or availability but is only required to actively work for a set number of hours each day or week. This arrangement can offer reduced living expenses and flexibility, but it also requires clear boundaries regarding work hours and personal time.

Patience, strong communication, and empathy are crucial soft skills for building trust and supporting clients' emotional well-being. These abilities ensure quality care, safety, and a positive living environment for those receiving assistance.

Part-Time Lead Art Teacher
Kidcreate Studio Wilmington – Mobile Art Classes for Kids
Candidates who live in or near Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, Watertown, Wellesley are especially encouraged to apply.
We have a part-time LEAD TEACHER FOR THIS FALL!
If you believe slime, clay, paint, and glitter should be part of every young artist’s life, we want to meet you! Kidcreate Studio Wilmington is a fast-growing, woman-owned mobile art business that brings messy, magical art classes to kids ages 18 months–12 years at schools, churches, daycares, and recreation centers.
What You’ll Do
As a Lead Art Teacher, you’ll be working with kids to complete art projects from start to finish. You will:
  • Instruct kids about key art concepts while guiding their creativity (and cheering them on!)
  • Hand out supplies and help keep materials organized.
  • Ensure classroom management so everyone is safe and having fun
  • Assist with set-up before class and clean-up after classes
  • Travel to class locations within about 20-25 miles of Wilmington, MA.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE ROLE
  • You MUST be age 18 years or older
  • You MUST have access to a reliable vehicle (Classes are held at various locations within 25 miles of Wilmington. Public transportation is not a reliable option to get to our class sites.)
  • You MUST have at least 3 days of availability between 2:00 pm–7:00 pm, Monday–Friday and at least 1 weekend day 2x/month.
  • You are comfortable working with kids ages 18 months–12 years.
  • You are enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, and love art and kids.
  • You are able to pass a state background check and SORI/CORI check.
  • No formal art training required — just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
  • Must be able to start in late August.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • $18-20/hour pay rate based on experience plus mileage
  • Paid for prep time, class time, and clean-up
  • A fun, creative work environment filled with laughter and imagination
  • A flexible schedule that can work around school, another job, or family commitments
  • A job where your work locations change daily – no boring desk in sight
  • Uniforms, lesson plans and art supplies are provided
  • Paid training to set you up for success
  • 401(k) plan available
