Job description

Thrive is a leading behavior change technology company founded by Arianna Huffington in 2016 with the mission to end the stress and burnout epidemic. Thrive helps individuals and organizations improve well-being, performance and mental resilience with its AI-powered behavior change technology platform. Thrive's Microsteps - small, science-backed steps to improve health and productivity - have been adopted by employees at more than 125 organizations in over 140 countries, from frontline and call center workers to executives at multinational companies.
If you're not sure that you're 100% qualified, but this sounds like a role you would Thrive in - we want you to apply! We believe skills are transferable and passion for our mission goes a long way.
We're looking for a Health Writer & Content Creator who sits at the intersection of scientific rigor and compelling storytelling. This is a role for a writer who can read primary research, synthesize it with authority, and translate it into accessible content that genuinely changes how people think and behave - and relishes the challenge of doing this across a range of formats, from articles and webinars to video scripts and web copy.
You'll produce science-backed health and wellbeing content that reflect Thrive's voice, point of view, and scientific standards. You'll partner closely with colleagues across the business, help shape and pitch new content ideas, and support new-business efforts. It's a high-impact role for a writer who moves fluidly between the precision of a researcher and the instincts of a journalist, who is comfortable navigating the review processes required for health and pharma work, and always receptive to customer feedback.
How You'll Contribute
  • Write new science-backed health content for customers across formats, including articles, infographics, guides, video scripts, citations, and SMS.
  • Create webinars on health, wellbeing, and productivity topics that are as engaging as they are evidence-based.
  • Draft, pitch, and workshop content ideas - both internally and externally - with the confidence of someone who knows the science behind the story and the humility of someone who knows the value of feedback.
  • Support new-business efforts - including pitch decks and other assets - that reflect Thrive's voice, POV, and scientific rigor.
  • Develop condition-specific content for the Thrive platform, applying the same editorial standards you'd expect from a top-tier health publication.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in content, editorial, journalism, and/or branded content.
  • A track record of health writing for reputable organizations - and a portfolio that shows you can make complex science genuinely compelling. There's no one background we're looking for, but you've most likely spent time as a staffer or contractor at a major media organization, writing for broad audiences on topics such as health, lifestyle, science, or technology
  • Experience navigating the pharma/health review process (e.g., MLR - medical, legal, and regulatory review).
  • AI fluency, with the ability to use AI tools to accelerate and sharpen your work without sacrificing depth or accuracy.
  • Experience producing multi-format content (long-form, video, and short-form) for consumer or enterprise audiences.
  • Familiarity with behavior-change science, well-being, or productivity research, and the editorial judgment to know when a finding is worth writing about.
  • Comfort collaborating across product, design, and go-to-market teams.

Who You Are
  • A writer who brings journalistic instincts to health and other wellbeing topics - skeptical of hype, rigorous about sourcing, and relentless about getting it right.
  • A storyteller with range: equally at home writing a research-backed guide to navigating life with a chronic condition and a punchy 160-character SMS nudge.
  • A proactive creative who strives for excellence, not just getting it done
  • Genuinely curious about how behavior change works, and motivated by the idea that well-written content can actually improve people's lives.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects, and moving quickly in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:
  • Mission-Driven Impact: Be part of a company that's truly making a difference in people's lives around the world.
  • Career Growth: Develop within the company and help shape our growth strategy.
  • Human-Centric Culture: Thrive in a supportive environment with a range of wellness perks and benefits.
  • Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a comprehensive and rewarding total compensation package.
  • Health & Financial Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage plus a 401(k) program with company match.
  • Time to Recharge: Generous paid time-off programs designed to help you rest, reset, and recharge - including Thrive Time, a benefit unique to Thrive that gives employees additional paid time off after major projects or intense periods of work to truly recharge and recover.

Compensation:
Base compensation for this role will likely fall in the $115,000-$130,000 range.
  • Please note: We provide a competitive mix of salary, performance bonus, and equity. The final offer amount will depend on factors like experience, expertise, and may differ from the range above. This range also excludes additional benefits, such as 401(k), and medical, dental, or vision insurance.

Thrive is deeply committed to creating a safe and welcoming work environment free of discrimination and harassment so that all employees can bring their whole selves to work.
Thrive is proud to ensure equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family or parental status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
Thrive is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. Please inform Thrive's Recruiting team if you need any assistance completing any forms or to otherwise participate in the application process.
