Opportunity Overview

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurosurgeon to join our growing Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Physiatry Service Line in Bend, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, physician-led environment with strong APP support, advanced surgical technology, and access to a growing regional referral network throughout Central Oregon.

The Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Physiatry Service Line includes nearly 60 providers delivering comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal care across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery center, and clinic settings. The Neurosurgeon will provide comprehensive neurosurgical care including evaluation, surgical treatment, postoperative management, inpatient consultation services, and emergency procedures as needed.

Practice Highlights

  • Blend of clinic, surgery, inpatient rounding, and procedural care

  • Approximately 32 patient-facing hours per week for a 1.0 FTE

  • Shared neurosurgery call rotation

  • Collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, trauma teams, rehabilitation specialists, and APPs

  • Practice locations include St. Charles Bend Hospital, Cascade SurgiCenter, and Bend Surgery Center

  • Opportunities to participate in outreach clinics throughout Central Oregon

  • Modern surgical facilities and advanced technology

  • Established referral network and growing regional demand

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage a broad range of neurosurgical conditions

  • Perform elective and urgent neurosurgical procedures

  • Interpret imaging and diagnostic studies

  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with specialty teams

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within Epic EMR

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medical staff activities

  • Maintain compliance with medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency program

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery

  • Oregon medical license or ability to obtain

  • Current ATLS certification

  • Unrestricted DEA registration

  • Eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs

Preferred

  • Experience in both hospital and outpatient neurosurgical practice settings
