Job description


We are looking for a skilled Handyman/Maintenance tech to join our construction team! The successful candidate will play a key role in both estimating and performing repairs across multiple projects, serving as a vital bridge between our company, subcontractors, and clients. In this role, you will perform multifamily and light commercial maintenance work that may include insulating, welding, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, repairing buildings, floors, or stairs, and installing new equipment. You are hard-working, a team player, and dedicated to performing quality work in all that you do. Significant past experience as a professional handyman or maintenance worker is highly preferred, and a positive attitude is a must!
Responsibilities:
  1. Project Estimation:
    • Walk through projects with subcontractors to evaluate work scope and requirements.
    • Assist in gathering and comparing estimates from various subcontractors.
    • Ensure clear and detailed communication of project needs and expectations.
  2. Repair and Maintenance:
    • Perform small repairs and maintenance tasks across different sites as required.
    • Address issues such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.
    • Ensure all repairs comply with local building codes and quality standards.
  3. Coordination and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, and company management.
    • Coordinate schedules and facilitate communication to ensure smooth workflow.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect repair work to ensure quality and completeness.
    • Follow safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
  5. Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed logs of walkthroughs, estimates, repairs, and any related communication.
    • Provide regular updates to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of handyman experience, preferably in a multi-project environment.
  • Strong knowledge of common repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic understanding of construction estimating and subcontractor coordination.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between sites.
