Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service Members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service Members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service Members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service Member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty Service Members.Job Description

Responsible for developing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with customer representatives, ensuring Customer Satisfaction, and maintaining all equipment models specific to a modality or modalities in the Americas Region.

This is a Field Service Role supporting customers throughout parts of the US, Central and South America as needed. The Field Service Engineer will work on a team or individually, to install, perform preventive maintenance, repairs and deliver trainings on Colibrium additive manufacturing machines. These activities contribute to customer's production machines operating at peak performance, producing quality parts, meeting production schedules, and meeting or exceeding quality & industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The Field Service Engineer will work on a team or individually, to install, perform preventive maintenance, repair and training across the region.
  • Perform total system level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems.
  • Able to communicate technical ideas, trainings and subjects through written and verbal communications.
  • Work with Service and Additive engineering teams to resolve complicated mechanical, electrical, electronic, and /or process problems for customer machines.
  • Help in all areas of site preparation (coordination of labor and materials) with minimal supervision.
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
  • Maintain effective quality systems and programs according to the GE Aerospace Service Quality Policy Statement.
  • Responsibly complete all administration tasks on time (e.g., ensure timely completion of Service Bulletins and PMs inspections documentation for assigned accounts).
  • Maintain daily interface with Customer technicians on equipment status to ensure satisfaction of primary customers.

Individuals selected for this internship will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Active Military personnel on their last 180 days before separation from the Military
  • B.Sc. Engineering / Associates degree and 2 years technical experience, a High School Diploma and 5 years field service or electrical / mechanic technician experience, or equivalent military experience.
  • Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques.
