The Arc Wayne in Newark, NY, a Human Services Agency, is seeking entry-level full time and per diem/relief Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Community Services Program to provide services to both children and adults with developmental disabilities who live with their families in our community. Individuals with developmental and/or intellectual challenges and their Direct Support Professionals (or DSP's) work on individualized, tailor-made plans, in an appropriate combination of home and community settings to include training and assistance with daily living skills.
On-the-job paid training provided to learn all the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the DSP role.

As a Direct Support Professional for our Community Services Program, you will work alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to provide person-centered support while promoting confidentiality, privacy, human dignity, uniqueness and physical and emotional well-being. You will support people to develop and maintain relationships, advocate for fairness and equity and full community participation, and will be responsible for the safety and well-being of individuals in their home and/or community settings.
Direct Support Professional Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid New York State driver's license that meets Agency driver standards
