Join Our Team as a Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP)!
Location: Community Homes in the Dover Area
Schedule: Full-time, 2nd Shift
Are you passionate about helping others live full, independent lives? Do you want to be a role model for your team and support adults with developmental disabilities? KenCrest is looking for a caring and dependable Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) to join our team!
As the Lead DSP, you’ll help keep our home running smoothly, support your coworkers, and make sure each person we serve is living their best life. You’ll work closely with the Program Manager and set the tone for excellent care.
What You’ll Do:
Be the go-to person during your shift for staff and individuals in the home.
Support and guide other DSPs with care tasks and documentation.
Help manage schedules, appointments, receipts, and paperwork for the home.
Assist with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and laundry – while encouraging individuals to take part.
Help individuals with personal care like bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
Administer medications and follow care or behavior plans as needed.
Take individuals to medical appointments, jobs, or community activities.
Keep track of household and vehicle maintenance and report issues when needed.
Complete paperwork and reports on time, including notes about care and behavior.
Respond quickly and safely in emergencies and always follow safety rules.
What You’ll Need:
1–3 years of experience in direct care or a related field
A valid driver’s license and good driving record
Ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and required training (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English

Physical Requirements:
You’ll need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, go up and down stairs, and stay on your feet for most of your shift.
