Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is continually looking for the best, those who share a passion for these mountains and the outdoors. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

TITLE: Houseperson

LOCATION: Iron Blosam Lodge, Snowbird

STATUS: Hourly, Part-time

SCHEDULE: Shifts may vary: Early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.

SUMMARY

As a Houseperson at the Iron Blosam at Snowbird you are responsible for cleaning public areas of the hotel, keeping the spa and pool areas stocked and tidy, and delivering needed items to guests.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain all public areas consisting of lobbies, halls, pool, steam room, saunas, and exercise room.
  • Dust furniture, vacuum, and buff floors.
  • Scrub toilets, showers, sinks, and cleans mirrors.
  • Empty trash, pick up spills and litter.
  • Deliver rollaway beds, dishes, cribs, and any other items required by guests.
  • Assist in the laundry room and with whatever else is asked of by supervisors.
  • Perform deep cleaning projects to help maintain hotel cleanliness.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, simple arithmetic and interpersonal relations.
  • Occasional guest shuttles in Snowbird Suburban are helpful but not required. A check of driving record is required to drive any Snowbird vehicle.
  • Must be reliable, mature, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to keep busy during slow times.
  • Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.
  • Requires some problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations.
  • Requires strong understanding of other Snowbird operations.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Shifts may vary. Early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
  • Other/Additional: Daily work with cleaning chemicals presents some hazards. Must use care with chemicals. Able to push or pull couches, move tables and chairs, and move rugs.
  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
