Job description

Position Title:                                 Babysitting Team Member                         

Functional Ministry Area(s):         Kids Ministry  

Reports to:                                     Childcare Coordinator

FLSA Classification:                     Non-Exempt, Seasonal, Part-Time  

Work Schedule:                            Sundays and selected office hours (Tues, Wed, Thurs) 

Seasonal:                                     Fall Session: Sept 9th  to Nov 12th (Sundays ongoing) 

Purpose 

A Babysitter at Hillside Community Church provides safe and nurturing care for children, helping them experience God’s love while their parents participate in ministry. Babysitters serve under the direction of the Childcare Coordinator, model our Core Staff Values, and carry Hillside’s vision of seeing God’s hope transform our cities one story at a time.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Execute lesson plans provided by the Childcare Coordinator 

  • Supervise and actively engage with children at all times 

  • Arrive promptly and prepared for each scheduled shift 

  • Know and follow all Kids Ministry safety procedures 

  • Complete assigned Kids Ministry trainings 

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for each room

Abilities Related to Role: 

  • Is an energetic, creative, team player who loves kids! 

  • Is flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances and environments. 

  • Ability to assess children’s developmental needs and meet them appropriately. 

Experience, Education, and Skills 

  • 1–3 years of experience working with children  

  • 1–3 years of babysitting experience 

  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire; training available through Hillside) 

Work Schedule 

  • Tuesday  

  • 8:30pm - 12pm  

  • 5:30pm - 9pm  

  • Wednesday 

  • 5:30pm – 9 pm 

  • Thursday (every other) 

  • 8:30pm - 12 pm 

  • Sunday 

  • 4:30pm - 7:30 pm
