Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP (Hawkins Parnell) is seeking a California-licensed attorney with three to five years of litigation experience for their Napa office. Experience with insurance defense, property damage, premises liability, and products liability. Experience with ESOP and ERISA and employee benefits matters, general corporate and business matters, and corporate transactions is a plus. If you are looking to gain experience working alongside top litigators and corporate attorneys, Hawkins Parnell is the place for you. Our attorneys are nationally recognized for their experience in creating ESOP and employee-owned companies and defending ERISA fiduciary litigation. At Hawkins Parnell, a successful candidate will enjoy learning and perfecting all stages of trial preparation and trial from start to finish, developing practical business solutions for corporate clients, and working with a seasoned team of experienced litigators and practitioners. Responsibilities include:
  • Manage a caseload of litigated claims
  • Prepare for trial including strategy discussion, discovery, records review, client interview and witness preparation
  • Research into complex litigation areas
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare and argue motions
  • Attend hearings
  • Communicate with the clients
  • Draft settlement agreements and other contracts
  • Provide support for non-litigation corporate matters, including without limitation, ESOP corporation formation and related transactions and executive compensation matters
