WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION
The Adjunct Faculty Member reports to the Law School's Associate Dean for Faculty & Curriculum. Some of the responsibilities of this role are:
Teach a course on FDA Law and Policy: This course with provide students with a brief history of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its current legal and policy framework. The survey course will cover how FDA regulates pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, human cell and tissue product (HCT/Ps), foods and dietary supplements, cosmetics, animal products, and tobacco. This course will touch on FDA topics, such as product premarket approval pathways, postmarket compliance, human clinical trials, importation of FDA regulated products, and FDA's enforcement under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and it related FDA regulations.
The adjunct faculty member will not be asked to attend department meetings.
She or he will be expected to spend some time outside of class to address questions related to the class.
Time taught to be determined by the applicant's schedule.
WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?
Required Degree: JD required. Required degree must be completed by the start date. Must be an active member of the Utah Bar.
Experience:The applicant must have knowledge of the topic and significant teaching experience.
