Job description

Purpose of Role:

Mandelbaum Barrett PC is seeking a highly motivated and driven Litigation Associate with 3+ years of substantive litigation experience, including exposure to complex civil, commercial, employment, and personal injury matters. This is a fully in-person role based in our Greenwich, CT office.

The ideal candidate will support senior attorneys in a team environment while taking on increasing responsibility, contributing across multiple stages of litigation. This role requires someone who is eager to learn quickly, thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and demonstrates initiative while working under appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Draft and respond to demand letters and cease-and-desist correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Handle discovery, including document review, production, and e-discovery.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Counsel clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and exposure.
  • Support employment-related matters, including workplace disputes and compliance issues.
  • Represent clients before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, CHRO, and state departments of labor, including drafting position statements and responding to charges.
  • Assist with personal injury and wrongful death litigation, including case development and trial preparation.
  • Assist with probate litigation development and trail preparation.
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and procedural rules.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in CT and New York required.
  • 3+ years of sophisticated litigation experience, ideally across employment, commercial, or civil litigation.
  • Experience with motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Experience with administrative agency proceedings (EEOC, CHRO, DOL) is a plus.
  • Federal court experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery and electronic document management.
  • Self-motivated and analytical, with strong critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to provide innovative and practical legal solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong academic credentials.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $170,000–$215,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary will be based on experience, skills, and overall contribution.
