Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litho Press Operator to join our Skokie team. This position operates the Heidelberg SM72 press, ensuring high-quality print production that meets color, quality, and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: $24 โ€“ $30 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and complete all job ticket instructions and specifications.
  • Set up and operate the Heidelberg SM72 press based on job requirements.
  • Adjust settings to achieve accurate color, register, and print quality per company standards.
  • Obtain required sign-offs before production and ensure jobs run efficiently and accurately.
  • Notify the Printing Lead of any unclear instructions, missing components, or equipment issues.
  • Log press times and sheet counts into MIS.
  • Maintain open communication with the Printing Lead and production team.
  • Perform general press maintenance and document quality inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one to two years of experience operating a Heidelberg SM72 press (required, no exceptions).
  • Knowledge of print production processes, color management, and press setup.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, production-driven environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 35 lbs unassisted (and up to 40 lbs with equipment or assistance).
  • Exposure to inks, solvents, and chemicals in accordance with OSHA and Illinois safety standards.
  • Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm may be present at the worksite. In accordance with OSHA and Illinois safety regulations, employees must follow all Hazard Communication and SDS procedures.
  • Overtime Policy Overtime authorization is required in advance. Repeated refusal to work overtime or working overtime without prior approval is considered a violation of company policy.
