Job description

Role Snapshot

Picture your day beginning at the press console: you review job specs, load plates, dial in ink densities, and run test sheets until the color lands exactly where it should. You sync with prepress to confirm files are production-ready, then bring the Heidelberg and flexo lines up to speed. Throughout the shift you monitor color consistency, make micro-adjustments, and keep a vigilant eye on quality. If a machine hiccups, you troubleshoot quickly—whether it’s a flexo station, a CNC component, or an auxiliary feeder—so production stays on track.

What you’ll do
  • Set up and operate printing presses (offset litho/Heidelberg, flexographic) for optimal throughput and print fidelity.
  • Prepare materials and files: perform prepress steps such as layout checks, typography refinements, and color calibration using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Manage color across concurrent jobs with advanced color management tools and workflows.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify registration, density, and adherence to exact specifications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, including CNC-driven systems, flexo presses, and related machining tools.
  • Coordinate closely with prepress to validate digital files and proofing before plates go on press.
  • Operate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) as needed to stage substrates and supplies.
  • Champion safety protocols and keep a clean, organized press area in line with industry standards.
  • Help onboard and mentor new operators on procedures, safety, and quality best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, workflow, and print quality.
What you bring
  • 5+ years in a professional printing environment; strong background in offset lithography preferred.
  • Deep understanding of lithographic print processes, press mechanics, and makeready.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prepress and print production, including imposition and trapping.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for preparing press-ready assets.
  • Advanced knowledge of color management systems and print standards for accurate reproduction.
  • Strong grasp of graphic design fundamentals, layout, typography, and production workflows.
  • Quality-first mindset with the ability to spot and resolve defects early.
  • Resourceful problem-solver who can diagnose and fix issues quickly on live jobs.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail; capable of juggling multiple runs and deadlines.
Proficiencies
  • Machine setups for production runs
  • Web offset printing
  • Sheetfed offset printing

If you’re passionate about delivering impeccable printed work and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, we’d love to meet you.
