Literacy Coach
Position Summary:
The Literacy Coach is an instructional leader who supports teachers in improving how reading and writing are taught in classrooms. The main goal of the coach is to strengthen literacy instruction so that all students become better readers, writers, and thinkers.
Responsibilities Includes:
  • Coach and support teachers in effective reading and writing instruction
  • Model lessons, co-plan with teachers, and provide helpful feedback
  • Help teachers use Savvas MyView Literacy and follow state standards
  • Lead small-group reading support through the Intervention block
  • Use student data to guide instruction
  • Provide training and professional development for staff
  • Ensure lessons include supports for multilingual learners and students with disabilities
  • Lead a literacy team to monitor progress and improve literacy practices
  • Plan and prepare instructional materials, professional learning sessions, and intervention resources aligned to student needs

Minimum Qualifications: :
  • Master's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university;
  • Valid NJ Standard Teacher Certification in Elementary;
  • Valid NJ Standard Teacher Certification in Supervision;
  • Experience in planning and facilitating adult professional learning
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving
  • NJ Criminal History;
  • Work authorization in the U.S.;
  • Tuberculosis Test;
