Job description

Title: Systems Engineering Associate - WebSphere Server Administrator

Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid)

Job Type: Long Term Contract

Position Description:

WebSphere Server Administrator will be responsible for providing Level 2 support and development for managing the server infrastructure in Enterprise Data Centers and Distributed locations globally. The candidate should be passionate about scripting and automating administration tasks to drive efficiency through creative thinking with reliability and consistency. Applicant is expected to have a broad background in WebSphere and WebSphere Liberty and Linux Operating System administration along with strong scripting skills and technical knowledge related to server hardware and software. This position will also require some support for IBM Urban Code Deploy (uDeploy) administration involving Installation of uDeploy Server, Agents, Proxy agents, Relay agents and Plugins. This position requires 12 * 7 on-call support in rotation with other team members.

  • Provide operational support for 600+ WAS 8.x+ servers including Installation, maintenance and administration on Linux and Windows servers.
  • Support WebSphere, Linux Operating System, Web server (IHS/Apache).
  • Apply patches, installing software, managing file systems, monitoring performance
  • Support Requests/Incidents and troubleshoot and identify root case
  • Drive problem resolution by meeting the application SLAs with a customer centric view.
  • Maintain WAS installs, WAS site builds and WAS processes runbook.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins and scripting to automate daily tasks.
  • Knowledge of Ansible
  • WAS Liberty and GCP is considered a plus.
  • WebSphere Liberty support on CaaS platforms.
  • Provide end to end automated solution in uDeploy platform by creating components, component processes, application processes, resource trees and agent pools. Use uDeploy REST API to automate uDeploy tasks.
