Location: Dauphin County, PA (Hybrid)
Duration: Contract until 06/30/2027
Position Overview
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) is seeking an experienced VMware & Network Systems Administrator with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise virtualization and networking environments. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and maintenance of agency-wide infrastructure, including VMware platforms, network systems, server administration, and disaster recovery operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise VMware infrastructure
• Manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, VCF, and Log Insight environments
• Administer physical and virtual servers across Microsoft, RedHat, and Linux platforms
• Perform systems optimization, patch management, upgrades, and lifecycle planning
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services
• Support data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and project managers to deliver infrastructure solutions
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and operational procedures
• Support project timelines, system deployments, and infrastructure modernization efforts
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of VMware Administration experience
• 5+ years of Networking Systems Administration experience
• Strong experience with VMware products including:
  • vSphere
  • vCenter
  • vSAN
  • NSX
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
  • Log Insight
    • Experience administering physical and virtual servers
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat, and Linux environments
    • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex enterprise systems
    • Experience with systems optimization, patch management, and lifecycle planning
    • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP administration
    • Experience with data backup and recovery solutions
    • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
    • Ability to work independently and respond to critical infrastructure issues when required
