About the Job At cb5, we are on a mission to find exceptional talent. We are seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to serve as a member of Systems Integration team. This role is onsite at a government location in Huntsville, AL and has very limited travel requirements. Key Responsibilities The candidate will: · Administer the operations of computer systems with a primary focus on Linux operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations. · Administer Linux patching and configuration management tools (e.g., Red Hat Satellite, Ansible) for updating, patching, and maintaining the domain. · Perform hardening and remediation of operating systems and DISA STIG compliance to reduce cybersecurity risks. · Deploy, configure, and automate environments using vCenter, Bash/Python scripting, and Ansible. · Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, as well as maintain repositories/Registries. · Manage and sustain a primarily Linux workstation and server-based enterprise environment. · Maintain and manage Secure Host Baselines for LINUX (primarily) and Windows. · Coordinate, execute, and document authorized secure data transfers across network boundaries, serving as a designated Data Transfer Agent (OTA) in compliance with security protocols. · Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoration, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations. · Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation. · Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements. · Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers. · Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems, and provide resolution. · Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results. · Effectively function as a self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to the System Administration team. · Have excellent presentation, oral, and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer management and customers. · Have a "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high-pace and dynamic environment and embrace change. Qualifications · Must have 3, or more, years of directly related experience in Linux systems administration (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, or 9 environments). · Must have experience with Linux configuration management, automated provisioning, and patching (e.g., Red Hat Satellite, Ansible). · Must have experience administering Linux operating systems within a virtualized environment (such as VMware vSphere/vCenter). · Must have experience developing and executing Bash and/or Python scripts. · Must have experience managing Linux authentication, identity management, and directory services (e.g., IdM, LDAP, SSSD, Active Directory integration). · Must have experience configuring core Linux networking services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH) and storage management (LVM, NFS). · Must have a current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP). · Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance · Must be able to obtain an active DoW Top Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications · Have a current Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification · Have experience with Windows systems administration (Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11) and Active Directory. · Have experience with Windows-based deployment and patching tools (WSUS, SCCM) and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). · Have work experience with PowerShell Scripting. · Have experience with managing CA certificate servers. · Have experience managing PXE/Kickstart servers for automated OS deployments. · Have experience with 2FA to include RSA and PKI. · Have experience with Virtualization of services (VMware vSphere/vCenter). · Have experience using BMC Remedy or similar ITSM ticketing systems. · Have a working knowledge of Configuration Management processes. cb5 Solutions LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
