JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for deployment of all new PC hardware, printers, and desktop application software.
  • Installs and supports productivity tools.
  • Performs installs, upgrades and maintenance on servers, workstations, laptops, and printers.
  • Administers and maintains Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Manage ticketing system (Freshservice).
  • Supports phone system and cell phones, Intune Mobile Management.
  • Supports network infrastructure, including UniFi and Cisco switching, routing, wireless, and firewalls.
  • Takes initiative to develop and implement solutions to problems that result in more efficient and cost-effective systems and/or procedures.
  • Works with consultants and/or vendors involved in system implementations to ensure compliance with project contracts and to ensure scopes of projects are completed.
  • Participate in on call rotation for support of critical systems.
  • Provides consultation to users in the selection of appropriate PC and/or printer hardware for their specific application needs.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Oversees helpdesk operations.
  • Low Voltage cabling.
  • Reports daily to Tier 4 leadership (Systems Administrator II / Director of IT).
  • Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in Information Technology, MIS or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of relevant experience will be considered. Industry certifications preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of computer science and the methods, techniques, practices, and procedures utilized in computer programming.
  • Knowledge of Linux and maintenance of Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of hardware.
  • Knowledge of information systems, technologies, and applications.
  • Knowledge in basic operation/support of VOIP phone systems.
  • Knowledge in supporting Point of Sale systems (Agilysys).
  • Knowledge in all phases of PC hardware setup, configuration, and routine support.
  • Knowledge in all phases of desktop system troubleshooting, repair, and problem remediation.
  • Must be proficient in basic systems support of Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025 operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under stressful conditions, make solid decisions, and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to isolate system problems quickly and take proper corrective action.
  • Ability to understand and translate technical terminology and reports into a clear and logical format.
  • Skill in presenting and explaining technical information to others.
  • Skill in reviewing and interpreting complex technical documents, manuals, journals, and instructions.
  • Skill in system troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Layer 2 and 3 networking.
  • UniFi networking – switching, access points, and gateway/firewall administration.
  • Cisco networking – switching and routing.
  • Virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware).
  • Additional training may be required as part of position. All training must be completed within calendar year of assignment.
  • Must be proficient in the setup and administration of Microsoft 365, specifically Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) with Microsoft Entra Connect directory synchronization.
  • Must be proficient in support, update and administration of Microsoft desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Knowledge in use of various virus control software applications, i.e., Malware Bytes and email filter.
  • Internal candidates must meet the requirements as outlined in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
