Senior System Administrator (Storage)

Location: 225 North Pearl Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202
Work Arrangement: On-site or Hybrid (no driving of JEA vehicles required)
Contract Duration: 6โ€“12 months, with possible extension


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator (Storage) to support enterprise-level storage, server infrastructure, and hybrid computing environments. This role focuses heavily on advanced systems administration, enterprise storage technologies, system performance, and troubleshooting across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms. Candidates must demonstrate deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel.

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot physical/virtual servers, hypervisors, and cloud-integrated systems.

  • Manage Active Directory, Linux accounts, permissions, and access controls.

  • Support enterprise applications, middleware, and cross-platform services.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware, software, and storage issues.

  • Develop and maintain administrative scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, or VBScript.

  • Implement and support backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Validate hardware and software for new installations, upgrades, and environment enhancements.

  • Follow structured change management processes and document all system modifications.

  • Create, enhance, or modify scripts and tools for system monitoring, reporting, and automation.

  • Advanced systems administration for Windows Server and Linux environments.

  • Infrastructure hardware/software configuration across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.

  • Enterprise storage management tools and storage networking technologies.

  • Network integration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMB, NFS, LDAP.

  • Hybrid cloud environments and virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V.

  • Command-line utilities and shell environments for administrative automation.

  • Backup, replication, and DR best practices.
