JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain infrastructure components in a physical/virtualized Linux Environment.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of all aspects of Linux servers.
  • Deployment and migration of applications and Oracle databases.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and resolve failures and critical alerts on Linux Systems.
  • Write and troubleshoot Linux Shell Scripts.
  • Fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning.
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on Linux servers.

Key Objectives

  • Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
  • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Documentation of infrastructure architecture, processes and operating procedures.

(QUALIFICATIONS Section)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Linux Server administration (Redhat/OEL) in large enterprise environment.
  • At least 2 years' experience in building and managing Redhat OpenShift based Virtualized environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux: RedHat, OEL, CentOS, etc.
  • Knowledge of Commvault Backup and EMC Data Domain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Redhat Linux Certification (RHCSA/RHCT/RHCE).
  • Familiarity with HCI, VMWare, SAN management and Storage concepts.
  • Working Knowledge of Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting.
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of ITSM Tools (Service Now).
