Job Title: Assembler/Brazer

Job Description

The Assembler will build accessories and components for marine air conditioning units on a true assembly line, using small hand tools and following detailed instructions. This role requires fast, accurate hands, strong fine motor skills, mechanical aptitude, and prior assembly line or mechanical assembly experience. The Assembler will prep and assemble units according to schedules and schematics, support production goals, and participate in cross-training across multiple areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble accessories and components for marine air conditioning units on a production assembly line.
  • Use small hand tools, including crimpers, wire cutters, calipers, micrometers, measuring tools, and other shop tools to complete mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Pull, route, and position various sizes of electrical wire neatly in predefined patterns, ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, circuits, and blueprints to assemble units correctly and safely.
  • Prep and assemble units according to the weekly production schedule and hot sheet, meeting quality and productivity expectations.
  • Work while standing for extended periods of time in an air-conditioned warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Give meticulous attention to detailed written and oral work instructions, following all procedures and quality standards.
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds to move parts, tools, and assemblies.
  • Receive training from technicians and other team members in various disciplines, including brazing, soldering, wiring, insulating, and other assembly tasks as needed.
  • Report defective materials, equipment issues, or questionable conditions promptly to the department supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a constant visual awareness of parts and supplies stored on the shop floor to ensure materials are available and organized.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean, orderly, and compliant with prescribed safety regulations at all times.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines and production targets.
  • Follow all safety rules, ISO requirements, and company procedures while building units to the highest standard of quality.
  • Be willing to be cross-trained and move to other areas within the facility when needed to support production demands.
  • Use pneumatic tools and power tools as required for mechanical assembly of equipment and refrigeration-related components.
  • Assist with assembling chiller and refrigeration equipment, applying mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance assembly processes, efficiency, and quality.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience working with hand tools such as crimpers, wire cutters, measuring tools, calipers, and micrometers.
  • At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience, preferably in an assembly line or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work confidently with hand and pneumatic shop tools.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and basic circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documentation; any prior experience in schematic or blueprint reading is helpful.
  • Fine motor skills and fast, accurate hands suitable for true assembly line work.
  • Ability to prep and assemble units following detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand the weekly schedule and hot sheet to prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and move to other areas as needed to support production.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in an air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Experience with brazing, soldering, wiring, and insulating is beneficial; willingness to learn these skills is strongly valued.
  • Previous experience in HVAC, refrigeration equipment, or chiller assembly is helpful but not required.
  • EPA license, EPA Universal certification, or similar HVAC-related credentials are a plus but not required.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Exp in electronics or electrical assembly work is a plus.
  • Familiarity with shop tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools used in mechanical and production environments.
  • Experience working on assembly lines or in high-volume production settings.
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome if mechanically inclined and comfortable with hand tools; training will be provided.
  • Ability to follow ISO and safety requirements and adhere to quality standards.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse/manufacturing facility with a comfortable air-conditioned environment. Safety regulations, ISO requirements, and cleanliness standards are strictly followed to maintain an orderly and secure workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.89 - $16.89/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
