Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Harness CAE Designer for our direct client to support automotive wiring harness development using Siemens Capital tools. The role involves end-to-end harness design, including logical system design, physical routing, validation, and manufacturing deliverables. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready harness designs aligned with OEM standards.

Key Responsibilities
Harness Design & Development
Perform complete automotive wiring harness design using Siemens Capital
  • Develop logical wiring architecture including power distribution and communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay)
  • Define connectivity between ECUs, sensors, actuators, and other electrical components
Physical Harness Design
Create physical harness layouts including routing, bundle structure, splices, and breakouts
  • Define connectors, terminals, and wire attributes (gauge, color, material, shielding)
  • Ensure alignment with vehicle packaging and existing CAD data
Manufacturing Outputs
Generate 2D harness drawings for production release
  • Create BOMs, wire lists, connectivity reports, splice tables, and cut-length reports
  • Deliver release-ready and change-controlled design datasets
Validation & Analysis
Perform electrical validation including rule checks and circuit protection validation
  • Support voltage drop analysis and design consistency checks
  • Provide data for downstream simulation tools
Data Integration & Benchmarking
Import and utilize CATIA and EAZ data for harness development
  • Perform comparisons between Siemens Capital and legacy tool outputs
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare design reviews and technical documentation
  • Maintain workflow documentation and best practice guidelines
  • Track issues, changes, and resolution status

Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience with Siemens Capital (Harness Design & Analysis)
  • Hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness development
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and network protocols
  • Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and EAZ tools
  • Understanding of harness manufacturing deliverables (BOM, drawings, reports)
  • Experience in electrical validation and CAE analysis
  • Basic knowledge of Python is a plus
